CHAPTER NINETEEN
âSo, am I supposed to just start talking?â asked Amanda. Bree smiled at her, seated in the chair across from her.
Although the clinic was on property, Ghost had made a treatment room for Gabi and Doc on the second floor, as well as a meeting room for the team to meet with Bree. It was much more private and allowed them to easily handle things within the building.
âYou donât have to say anything if you donât want to. I just want you to talk about what you want to talk about.â There was silence as Amanda rolled thoughts through her head. Bree decided it might be best if she started the conversation. âHow are you and Griff getting along?â
âGreat,â smiled Amanda brightly. âHeâs amazing. Everything I expected my first love to be. I felt guilty about that at first, guilty that I didnât have those feelings with Ice, but I understand now.â
âI think we were all wondering why it was taking him so long to make it permanent with you. I know the guys asked him several times when you went back to school and then when you came home, they didnât understand.â Amanda nodded, her hair falling around face.
âHe did ask me to be âhis girlâ but I didnât know what that meant. I actually pushed him back on that one. I told him I just didnât think I was ready for that.â
âSounds to me like you knew something was wrong,â said Bree thoughtfully.
âI guess I did,â she smiled. Nibbling on her lip, she turned looking at the clear blue sky and then back at Bree. âThis is so awful to sayâ¦I mean heâs goneâ¦but the sex wasnât all that great.â
Bree said nothing, just nodding at the girl. She knew it must be eating her alive, but she also knew that she had to get it out.
âI mean, I had nothing to judge it by other than Charliesâ books, but it just didnât make me feelâ¦special.â
âDid you have an orgasm?â asked Bree casually.
âUhâ¦not without my own help,â she blushed.
âI see. Did Ice know that?â
âHeâ¦he encouraged me to do it. He always wanted me from behind, I guess so he could feel like it was Axe. He would tell me to touch myself. I thought it was just exciting for him to see me touch myself, but after a while, well after a while reading those books, I realized it shouldnât be like that.â
âAmanda, I love that youâre reading Charliesâ books, but you do understand that those are romance novels, not real life. What authors write about in those books often isnât reality. We wish it were; itâs why we read them, hoping that it could be us with all those magnificent men and women; but sometimes itâs not.â
âI knowâ¦I mean, I thought I knew, but now with Griffâ¦with Griff itâs just like the books.â
Breeâs eyes went wide and she smiled. If she were being honest, with Doc it was just like the books as well. In fact, they often used some of the love scenes as their script in the bedroom.
